TESTIMONIALS.

Also known as Fixed Wire Testing, Periodic Fixed Wire Inspections ensure that the wiring within the fabric of a building is fit for purpose and safe to use. It is a necessary measure to detect, prevent and arrest damage from excessive electrical loading, environmental factors and wear and tear.

It is also a requirement under the Electricity at Work Act 1989 to conduct a Periodic Fixed Wire Inspection to ensure the safety of the work environment - the maximum period allowed between tests is governed largely by what the site is used for:

•  Commercial Installations - 5 Years

•  Industrial Installations - 3 Years

•  Buildings Open to the Public - 1 Year

•  Fire Alarms - 1 Year

•  Short Term/Site Installations - 3 Months

What does the Testing Involve?

Each individual circuit within an electrical system needs to be properly tested by a qualified engineer using sophisticated equipment. This enables us to determine the safety of the system overall and minimise the chances of electrical shocks or fires.

Periodic Fixed Wire Inspections are highly specialised requiring fully trained, skillful engineers. As such we have our own dedicated team of engineers at Eurotest who are all NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) accredited, and carry current CRB ( Criminal Records Bureau) clearance.
